What is the cork fee for bringing in wine? Thanks?
Really tasty food that is full of flavor accompanied by a fun drink menu. Everything is family style and for a party of three we ordered five items. I give it three stars because despite the casual vibes our bill was quite expensive so be prepared to spend a bit more. For example the char siu ribs are really small with only five to an order for 14.00. The duck salad did not feature that much duck for 16.00. The restaurant itself is severely lacking in acoustics and the service was a bit off with dishes not arriving and service on the slower side.
MoreI love this place! Friendly staff, great food, and awesome posters to look at while u pee! Only issue I have with this place is I can't stop myself from ordering everything off the menu and I always feel like I'm gonna die after, but work won't let me... Sigh some day
MoreToo bad the customer service went out the window during their COVID reopening. The safety procedures are appreciated but when you’re yelled at for not remembering all 10 rules it kills the mood. You’re told to do something one way and to enter the tables in a certain way on the right in order to avoid contact and when you follow them you’re then told “can you not go that way to avoid contact” like let’s get it together Gado! Don’t confuse your customers on their first visit and treat us with respect not like children. We understand COVID but spending over $200 to be treated like a child is a no go at any food establishment. Food was ok and menu isn’t really allergy friendly. Def ain’t coming back but thanks for trying Gado.
MoreVery good service. Enjoyed opening day. Staff was very helpful. Tables were clean silverware and napkins and other things were laid out nicely. Menu was easy to follow. The only small criticism was that it's loud when there's large crowd. All in all move return to enjoy our samples some of the other dishes
MoreDiscovered this place today, for a “ fresh opening” and a first time trying Indonesian food. I was blown away. Best lamb tartare we’ve ever had, tasty melon salad. So many unique flavors . The two of us had 4 shared plates & we were really full. it’s nice to order family style that way you get to try diff dishes. I felt like I was transported to Indonesia for the few hours I was there.
MoreWorth the hype. Wow, amazing food. It is LOUD inside so be prepared to not have any sort of intimate conversation. The food is amazing, really, it is. Service was friendly and anyone on staff passing by was happy to help us with whatever we needed. I hear brunch/lunch is lined up soon!! Don’t wait, get over and get it while it’s still a reasonable wait to get seated.
MoreFound both a unique drink and food menu. Lots of interesting dishes and cocktails, and house infused liquors. Great date idea, get the big build your own weird highball package and make each other's drinks! Me and my buddy tried this and now I'm gay. They also have a large half-circle bar and there was no wait, surprising considering their excellent menu and awesome service.
MoreFor dining during the pandemic, Gado Gado exceeded expectations on service, flow, efficiency and the food was absolutely fantastic. We had the grilled beef, roti, and mussels. The mussel curry broth reminded me of my daughter's Cambodian grandmother's curry. The beef was cooked to perfection. The dipping sauce for the Roti was earthy, rich and tangy. I have to figure out how to replicate it. The set up was great. They actually built a deck with tables 6ft apart, and a little side bar for the servers to drop food and drinks off, for you to grab yourself. I can't wait to go back.
MoreVery unique cuisine for Portland. The beef cheek curry was on another level. There rice is a must try same goes for the Roti with a corn purrey sauce. They actually have a great non-alcoholic drink section which is finally catching on at places. I had the blackberry shrub with Thai basil drink. I had a pepper only dish that was good. The pickled vegetables were great. And a fruit salad. Very healthy choices. All that said you must try the cake even for just one bite. It is rare I brag on desserts but it is a must.
MoreFood was not exactly overwhelming and under seasoned in regards to the reputation and descriptions in the menu. Ingredients were of fresh and good quality and portions where generous although for the price they should be. The fish cake in the filet o fish reminded me of fish cakes at 7eleven on orchards road in the early 90's in Singapore and the durian cake while light on the durian and heavy on the strawberries and cream reminded me of pastries in Bangkok. These are general good things I was just expecting something more. I think most people will enjoy the food very much.
